About Us What & who makes us tick!
How It All Began
A long, long time ago, 1993 to be exact, two people met at the UK's very first ever Internet Service Provider. Both young men had a fascination with computers and technology. Working together they became friends and remain so to this day. Together they worked to display data from the company MS Access database to web pages. They developed an expertise and realised that a lot of firms would probably want to be able to click through their own data and benefit from the convenience of having data from different sources, in one coherent interface. Thus www .com ltd was born with a mission to connect data to the web.
www. com ltd has been executing against that mission ever since.
Working in the industry for so many years and with so many different blue chip clients one of the founders, Anthony Kirrane, had an idea that the commonality between oreganisations was far greater than the differences. Wherever he was developing software, no matter how exotic the project, certain requirements were always the same: user security and permissions, availability, data sharing, internal and external access, the list goes on.
Understanding that the cost in terms of money and time of fully bespoke software was beyond what most SME's considered reasonable, Anthony concieved of a software suite that provided baseline functionality that could be finished to a customers exact specifications. Thereby a very small part of the implementation would require unique software coding but the bulk of the boilerplate code was already develeoped and could just be 'rented' for a fair amount based on users.
The X Cloud Platform was born. The X in X Cloud represents the unknown. Or rather each clients unique business model, processes, protocols and procedures.
Akin to a semi-bespoke suit from Saville Row, The X Cloud Platform can be mouled to fit any organisation and way of working.
Launched in 2010, The X Cloud Platform is the distallation of over 25 years of Microsoft software developement experience. An experience created within some of the biggest companies on the planet: AT&T, Dresdner Klienwort Benson, National Grid, BT, BT Syntegra, Ernst & Young, BA, FT, Joose.Tv and many many more.
